Ethiopia, Ranked 47th worldwide
Due to years of continued internal conflict due to bodies like terrorist group al-Shabaab, the need for a strong military has been a necessity. The Ethiopian National Defense Force currently has an active force of 140,000 troops. Even though the country is landlocked and not having the advantages of a maritime, Ethiopia has focused its resources on developing its army and air force to an impressive degree. according to recent reports from the Army chief and a regional governor were shot dead when a general attempted a coup, but the whole operation was quickly diffused by the army.
