In appreciation for her outstanding service to others, Jasmine Bledsoe has been honored with a distinguished leadership award. The 14-year-old scholar, a Forth Worth native, was honored for her contribution to the community, innovative spirit, and resolve to have a positive impact. These qualities have made her an exceptional leader and role model, carrying on her family’s tradition of service.
Bledsoe, who is also an entrepreneur, received the Hershey Heartwarming Hero Award and the Presidential Volunteer Gold Service Award recognizing her substantial contributions and positive influence in the community.
According to Black News, the young leader’s efforts this year have concentrated on assisting nursing home residents, including regular visits and providing joy and friendship to older people. Her visits are much-anticipated and welcomed.
She revealed that two quotes that inspire her are from Booker T. Washington: “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others” and Barbara Jordan: “A nation is formed by the willingness of each of us to share in the responsibility for upholding the common good.”
As she feels that youth may contribute to the solution of today’s challenges through creativity and entrepreneurship, Bledsoe aspires to exemplify these themes and inspires others to do the same.
The enterprising teenager is the founder of The Jasmine C. Bledsoe Collection, a company that shows her creativity through personalized jewelry and clothes design. She gives up some of her company’s earnings to underprivileged kids and nursing homes.
Going forward, Bledsoe intends to grow her volunteer work and keep encouraging others to join her. Despite her entrepreneurial and altruistic pursuits, the youngster enjoys playing basketball and generating digital content.
Blesdoe has been highlighted in Dallas Child Magazine and DFW Shoutout, according to her website. She believes that everyone should feel good about themselves and have a unique “glow up.”
