International Festival of the Sahara – Tunisia
This is the ultimate festival for what we call, “desert culture enthusiasts”. Now in its 51st year, the festival usually runs in late December and celebrates the culture and traditions of the desert and nomadic tribes. According to local tourist sites, the festival features a large parade including song, dance, traditional weddings and ceremonies, camel races, horseback riding among other local sports. The once in a lifetime event is so highly patronized that it is always sold out. It is in fact, one to watch!
