Prempeh I

Prempeh I

He was the King of the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana from 1888 until his death in 1931. Prempeh I severally refused offers by the British to make the Ashanti Kingdom their protectorate and led his people in a war against them in 1893. Prempeh I together with other leaders were eventually arrested and exiled to Seychelles.
