Together with Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, William Tubman of Liberia and Modibo Keita of Mali, Toure envisioned a unified Africa. He would be among the leaders of free Africa to form the OAU in 1963 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where they were hosted by Emperor Haile Selassie.
