Erykah Badu is the eclectic singer who has never been afraid to carve her own niche and stay true to herself no matter how uncomfortable it may make anyone.
Badu began her journey in 1989 as a senior in high school. Initially, she was a vegetarian then adopted a vegan lifestyle in 1997.
“It’s just what’s best for my body. If I was a Lamborghini, I would want to put the best gas in it.” Badu also says her diet gives her energy, adding, “I eat raw mostly, kale salad, avocados, fruits, vegetables, and alkaline water,” Badu told Self Magazine in 2016.
