8 African songs that were banned for various reasons

Wande Coal – Iskaba

A former member of Don Jazzy’s Mavin records, Wande Coal, has carved a niche for himself in the industry with his silky voice. Making a bang in the industry with his 2008 hit song Ololufe, Wande hasn’t looked back. Since then, he has released top charting tunes including, Iskaba. This song was banned by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission for vulgar and indecent lyrics. In a letter, NBC cites the casual use of names of figures in the title and chorus. It said that “Mary” and “Jesus” are regarded as sacred by the Christian faith hence it contravenes section 4.3.1.e.
