The Loving Story
This 2011 documentary is about the real story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the interracial couple who went on a legal crusade in 1958 to secure the right to be married to each other. This was after the two were arrested in 1958 for violating Virginia’s anti-miscegenation laws, eventually leading to a landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision on interracial marriage. Their battle resulted in the legalization of interracial marriage across the United States.
