Togo

Just before the September 2017 protests against Togo president,  Faure Gnassingbé, internet users and protestors in the West African country complained about a complete internet shutdown.

President Gnassingbé’s family has been in power for over 50 years. Protestors and the opposition party are calling out for the reinstatement of the 1992 Constitution which was changed by the president’s late father Eyadéma Gnassingbé to allow him run for office after two terms.
