Amber Rose set herself up for ridicule on social media after accusing Beyoncé of stealing her speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC). Beyoncé, 43, delivered a speech during a rally held by Vice President Kamala Harris in Houston on Friday, October, 25.

Beyoncé in her speech to endorse the Democratic presidential nominee told the crowd that she had come to the event—which centered on reproductive freedom—as a “mother,” not as a “celebrity” or “politician.”

“A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided,” the Grammy winner explained.

Beyoncé in her speech also credited Harris for taking a stance as a “woman who’s been pushing for what this country really needs right now, unity,” the Independent reported. The Freedom singer also touched on motherhood and how that had influenced her decision to throw her weight behind Harris.

“Our past, our present, our future, merge to meet us here. Imagine our daughters growing up, seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations,” she said. “We must vote, and we need you.”

But Rose, 41, claimed Beyoncé stole what she said at the RNC when the singer’s speech was posted on Instagram. Rose in her speech to endorse Donald Trump similarly said she was a “mother” before adding: “My whole world revolves around providing for my children, keeping them safe and giving them an opportunity for a better life.”

“That’s something that unites all American parents, whether we’re Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, or liberals. We all want a better country for our children,” she continued. “Now, you may be wondering why I’m up here telling you this,” she said. “I’m no politician and I don’t want to be, but I do care about the truth.”

The model and TV personality made those allegations against Beyoncé in the comments section of the post. “She wanna be me so bad. Literally took my whole speech,” Rose wrote alongside a rolling eyes emoji.

But social media had none of Rose’s claims and went ahead to mock her. “Bey definitely don’t wanna be you,” a fan replied. “Amber please don’t start your s***,” another person said.

“Girl now you know she definitely does not want to be you,” a different person said, per the Independent. “Giving delusional.”

“There’s a scary level of desperation and delusion when Amber Rose thinks Beyoncé wants to ‘be like her.’  You’ve never even heard of Amber Rose and Beyoncé in the same sentence until today, fr,” another person wrote on X.

In the wake of the mockery that ensued, Rose told TMZ that she was just trolling and that Beyoncé had not stolen her speech. “I was literally trolling,” the 41-year-old said.

“I troll with my friends all the time. I did not think that was going to be international news when I posted that comment. But I love Beyoncé, I know Beyoncé. We’ve hung out a couple times, she’s an amazing girl.”

“I was not [serious],” she also claimed. “A delusional person would be serious.”
