After barely nine months of release, the official music video for the hit single Lonely At The Top, by showstopper Asake, has clocked 50 million views on YouTube.
The record adds to many of his accomplishments over the years as a solo artist. Lonely At The Top, released in June 2023, had many positive reviews and was featured on former US President Barack Obama’s 2023 playlist.
Its quality attracted American singer-songwriter H.E.R to an acoustic remix with Asake’s African Something in November 2023, which also received massive endorsement from listeners.

The tune is one of the many hits on Asake’s Work of Art album. In January, the singer crossed 900 million streams on Spotify, with the album reaching over 600 million streams on Audiomack.
Nickname ‘Mr Money With The Vibe,’ Asake is set to release his third studio album by mid-year 2024. This perhaps explains why he has not released any new song after his Only Me single which came with a controversial video this year.
It will be recalled that early this year, he released an exciting video for the trendy single Only Me. Despite its top quality and rich props, aspects of the video was criticized by some religious people as ‘inappropriate.’
Only Me single was released early in January this year to coincide with Asake’s 29th birthday. The Amapiano rhythm is described as one that “takes the listeners on a journey of love, triumph, and self-discovery,” as the singer projects his uniqueness with his charisma and distinctive vocals.
It was one of the top tracks on the Apple Music chart in Nigeria during the first week of release and generated 11 million streams on Audiomack weeks after it premiered.
