Africans are big on food because it is engrained in our culture. However, a typical African breakfast is unlike others in the world. Breakfast is the most essential meal of the day and it need not be boring or monotonous.

There are some days where a quick tea and scones will do but there are other times when we just want to connect with the motherland for a classic African breakfast.

It is the norm to see many street side vendors set up very early in the morning to serve their trusted customers with breakfast. Some have it to go while others get comfortable and eat by a small shed near the vendor. That is the beauty of the continent.

Most of these breakfasts can be made at home as well so if, one is not big on stepping out early in the morning to grab a bite, make them at home.

These African breakfasts are packed with flavors from the continent and some of them are eaten across countries on the continent with slight variations. It’s about time you tried something unique for breakfast made with fresh everyday ingredients that will send your taste buds on a beautiful journey.
