“I think for us, our relationship always comes first,” the 35-year-old said. “Then we’re parents.”
Ayesha revealed that prioritizing her marriage with Steph has really paid off as the couple believes keeping their relationship on top of each other’s minds sets the basis for a strong household.
“That works for us because then you have two happy people raising the kids in the house,” Curry said. “So the family sector in our lives always comes first.”
In 2011, the couple tied the knot in Charlotte, North Carolina, after many years of dating as they had already known each other since their teenage days.
Steph and Ayesha Curry share four kids, Riley, 12, Ryan, 9, Canon, 6, and soon-to-be one-year-old Caius.
“He’s 9 months old now. He’s crawling and laughing. He only says, ‘Dad,'” Curry said of the youngest.
“We were worried about having the six-year gap between our son and Cai Cai, and it’s been magical. He truly feels like a big brother. He only wants to protect him. There’s no jealousy. I love it.”
On social media, Steph’s fans have rallied behind his wife, indicating that their mutual understanding and selflessness have proved fundamental and a success for their marriage.
