Barack Obama arguably has to be one of the most loved and most popular presidents ever. His charm, charisma, ability to empathize and affability is second to none and is largely the reason why he is the peoples’ person.

These exceptional qualities of the former U.S. president haven’t gone unnoticed and he’s constantly being rewarded with something very priceless; his name and legacy being immortalized.

Several landmarks, facilities and even animal species, just to mention a few have been named or renamed in his honor with several others also under consideration.

To corroborate this, check out just a few among the several hundreds of things/places that have been named after the 44th President of the United States below:

  • Aptostichus barackobamai – This spider species was named in honour of Obama.
  • Etheostoma Obama -A fish species named after him.
  • Western striolated puffbird (Nystalus obamai) – A bird species named in his honour.
  • Obamadon – A lizard species named in his honour.

To further doff our hats off to this wonderful man, Face2Face Africa shares with you some places outside the United States that have immortalized his name.
