“Insecure” star Issa Rae is making some good use of this quarantine period by giving her skin and hair some much-needed attention and pampering.

Speaking to Page Six, the Senegalese-American actress said she has mostly avoided makeup during this period while also taking very good care of her skin.

“I’m trying to stay makeup-free as much as I can,” she said. “I just take care of my skin. This is the first time that I’m consistently using sunscreen when I go outside. I am cleaning, exfoliating and masking a lot, so I’m just trying to keep my skin stress-free.”

“The Lovebirds” actress also revealed she has noticed a difference and improvement in her natural hair while taking it easy at home, likening it to a “beauty” restart.

“My hair feels more healthy,” she revealed. “I just feel like I can experiment with different products I have always wanted to use. I can look ugly in my house, ’cause no one see me — it’s great! But I do need a mani and pedi.”

Rae stars alongside Kumail Nanjiani for Netflix’s latest original, The Lovebirds. Currently streaming on the platform, the romantic comedy movie follows a couple on the brink of breaking up who get “unintentionally embroiled in a bizarre murder mystery.”

“As they get closer to clearing their names and solving the case, they need to figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.”
