Kim Kardashian recently opened up about her divorce from Kanye West, explaining that it is “tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of personal reasons.”
Kim, 44, reflected on that chapter of her life during the February 13 episode of The Kardashians, PEOPLE reported. The businesswoman and socialite revisited her previous relationship issues when her sister Khloé Kardashian was talking to her and their mother Kris Jenner about coming face-to-face with her ex-husband Lamar Odom after nine years.
During their conversation, Khloé stated that though she got married to the former basketball star “way too quickly”, she had no regrets over her actions and “wouldn’t change a thing.”

“That was the love of my life. And if it wasn’t for drugs, I know we would still be married ’til today,” Khloé, 40, said. “I know I picked the right person at that time. None of us knew he was on drugs until it was at least a year in. That’s what was so terrifying.”
Kim then chimed in, saying, “That’s the hardest part. I’ve been there.” “When you don’t foresee something happening that really changes a person’s personality and then they’re not the same person and you can’t ever get that person back, but you can’t live with the new person. I get it.”
She added: “It’s tougher when you don’t want your marriage to end off of personal reasons but circumstances change that force your marriage to end. When you weren’t planning on that and that’s not really the outcome you want but there’s no other option, I think it makes it harder to get over.”
Kim and Kanye share two daughters and two sons. The former couple got married in 2014, but Kim filed for divorce in 2021.
Kim, in the divorce papers she filed, had alleged she suffered emotional distress as a result of the “misinformation” Kanye was posting on social media about their family. But Kanye disputed her allegations as well as the genuineness of their prenuptial agreement. The College Dropout rapper’s lawyer also labeled the misinformation allegation as “double hearsay” and said Kim couldn’t submit evidence to show her ex-husband wrote the posts, according to court documents, NBC News reported.
