Matt Lauer
Matt Lauer is a former co-host of NBC’s “Today” who was fired in 2017 after multiple women employees accused him of sexual misconduct during an investigation by Variety which interviewed dozens of current and former staffers.
The stories of the victims have been corroborated by friends or colleagues that they told at the time and they have asked to remain unnamed, fearing professional repercussions.
In 2018, he publicly denied the allegations for the first time saying his silence is “in an attempt to protect my family from further embarrassment and to restore a small degree of the privacy they have lost.”
He claimed that while he might have behaved inappropriately, he never coerced or abused anyone.
