NFL star Tyreek Hill took to social media on Tuesday to troll Noah Lyles after the Olympic sprinter cancelled their scheduled race because of “complications” and “personal reasons.”
Per TMZ, Hill, 31, and Lyles, 27, were set to face off in a foot sprint in New York City this weekend after the pair engaged in trash-talking over who is the faster runner. The back-and-forth between Hill and Lyles began over a year ago after the 2024 Olympic gold medalist claimed he could beat the Miami Dolphins wide receiver in a race.
Lyles ultimately offered to race Hill, who is regarded as one of the fastest players in the NFL. But the former ultimately canceled their scheduled race, causing Hill to poke fun at him on Tuesday.
In his first post, Hill shared a popular Homer Simpson meme with Lyles’ head photoshopped on the cartoon character. The meme shows Homer backing into hedges before disappearing, suggesting that Lyles was hiding after the 31-year-old’s performance at the Last Chance Sprint Series.
“Nojo18 after seeing me race last weekend,” Hill, who clocked 10.15-seconds in the 100-meter sprint, said.

Hill also shared a video that shows him walking and displaying a white paper with “Noah Could Never” written on it. He also repeats those words, while another video also shows a group of young fans doing the same as they stand on a track with “Noah Could Never” similarly written on it with chalk.
Hill trolling Lyles came after the latter confirmed their scheduled race had been canceled during an interview at the Sport Beach event in Cannes, France, on Monday, the New York Post reported.
“We were very deep into creating the event. In fact, it was supposed to happen this weekend,” Lyles said. “Unfortunately there were some things, complications, personal reasons that it just didn’t come to pass, but we were full on.
“We were gonna have a big event, we were going to shut down New York Times Square and everything, we were gonna have all the billboards for the event, it was going to be a lot of fun.”
