Chicago Sky star Angel Reese isn’t too fazed by the trolling that has been coming her way as she is even seeking to make some cash out of it.
According to Bleacher Report, the 23-year-old has filed a request to trademark “Mebounds,” a term that was initially created to troll her for catching the rebounds of her own unsuccessful shots.
“Whoever came up with the ‘mebounds’ thing, y’all ate because ‘mebounds’, rebounds, crebounds… anything that comes off that board, it’s mine,” the WNBA star said in a video on her TikTok.
“And a brand? That’s six figures right there. The trolling, I love when y’all do it because, like, the ideas be good. Like, when y’all have to alter my face and s–t because I’m cute, alright, whatever. That doesn’t get me. But when y’all came up with ‘mebounds’—because statistically, all the rebounds that I get aren’t always just mine. They’re, like, the defenses, too, or somebody else on my team—but, when y’all came up with ‘mebounds,’ y’all ate.”
The Chicago Sky haven’t started the season on a good note as they have won just three games and lost seven. Reese, who is in her second season with the WNBA franchise, is currently clocking 10.4 points per game.
Reese is also known for her rebounding prowess as she has an average of 12.8 boards in the 44 games she has so far played. Her double-double record also currently stands at 32. During their win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, Reese clocked her first career triple-double as she scored 11 points and made 13 rebounds in addition to 11 assists.
