Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Porsha Williams is laughing straight to the bank as her ex-husband Simon Guobadia has been ordered to pay her $40,000 in monthly alimony for 15 months following a ruling on their prenup battle.
Besides being ordered to pay the monthly alimony, Guobadia must also foot the bill for Williams’ legal fees, Essence reported. Williams, 43, will also retain a Rolls-Royce gifted to her by Guobadia, 61.
That isn’t all as she has additionally been given until 2027 to confirm if she’ll either vacate or continue to stay in the $7,000,000 home they shared before they tied the knot.
Williams and Guobadia got married in a lavish ceremony, but they parted ways after just 15 months. They have, however, disagreed over the terms of their prenuptial agreement, with Guobadia claiming that Williams failed to keep to her side of the bargain.
“[Williams] failed to disclose that she would return to her employment on The Real Housewives of Atlanta as a cast member,” the court documents stated. “Instead of disclosing this material fact, the Wife made it very clear to [Guobadia] (and the public) that she was leaving the television show and not returning. [Guobadia] relied on the representations — or misrepresentations — [Williams] made to him during their engagement, the negotiation phase, and at the time that the parties signed the Prenuptial Agreement.”
In 2021, Williams disclosed she was no longer going to feature in RHOA after being on the reality television series for nine seasons. But in February 2024, she announced that she was returning for the show’s 16th season. That was around the period she filed for divorce from Guobadia, who is in his native Nigeria following his deportation.
Guobadia in court documents stated that if he had knowledge that Williams would make a comeback to the show, he wouldn’t have penned his signature to a prenup that “requires him to pay a substantial financial obligation to [Williams] totaling over hundreds of thousands of dollars and terms that require him to split the equity of his $7,000,000 million pre-marital home (the Marital Residence) with [Williams], and pay significant debts and expenses for the Wife’s benefit,” Essence reported.
Williams, however, begged to differ, claiming that she had to start work again to “offset the numerous financial obligations that [Guobadia] has failed to maintain under the Temporary Order, as well as to offset the significant legal expenses [Williams] has already incurred in pursuing enforcement of the parties’ Prenuptial Agreement and defending herself against [Guobadia] as it relates to the instant divorce action.”
