A representative for Sean “Diddy” Combs has responded to a report claiming that some of the embattled music executive and multi-millionaire’s employees are upset because he is not paying them while he’s serving his sentence in a federal prison.
Juda Engelmayer, who is Combs’ rep, however, told TMZ that the Bad Boy Records founder is paying his employees for their services.
The entertainment news outlet also provided details about how Combs’ finances are being managed while he’s locked up. Tri Star Sports & Entertainment, a business management firm, is said to be managing Combs’ fortune, and the company is tightly disbursing his money. This is reportedly affecting some of Combs’ employees.
TMZ referred to the several lawsuits that have been filed against Combs, reporting that the lawyers handling those cases have yet to be paid. Other employees are also reportedly caught up in the same situation, with at least one staffer quitting.
But Engelmayer emphatically stated that “people, personnel, and attorneys are all being paid, and no one is leaving.”
Engelmayer was also asked if Combs’ employees were receiving their money on time, to which she said, “Sean Combs controls his own finances. Everyone gets paid for their work once it’s completed and confirmed, after routine review.”

Sources told the entertainment news outlet that Combs’ family members also have to reach out to Tri Star, as their access to the 56-year-old’s money is not absolute. Combs’ family reportedly cannot spend more than a certain amount, though the amount could not be established. If they overspend, they are supposed to send Tri Star invoices, though they’re unapproved on certain occassions.
In one instance, Combs reportedly wanted his family members to have dinner together in New York City on the eve of his sentencing. And though they reached out to Tri Star to foot the bill, the business management firm informed them that they had to submit an invoice. Tri Star turned down their request, but ultimately reimbursed the person who paid for their family dinner.
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, a federal judge sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison on prostitution-related charges. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian also fined him $500,000 and ordered five years of supervised release at a hearing in Manhattan federal court on October 3, 2025. Combs had faced up to 20 years behind bars.
The disgraced music executive and multi-millionaire was arrested by federal agents on September 16, 2025, and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has, however, maintained his innocence.
Combs is serving his conviction at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey, which is a low-security prison. The 56-year-old and his family communicate regularly, and his son Justin visited him on Christmas Day, TMZ reported.
