Economic Sabotage
In the wake of expanding terrorism, many African governments have been forced to dedicate most of their resources to security operations, neglecting other critical areas of economy such as creating employment and improving food access.

Due to frequent terror attacks, mainly targeting foreigners, many international investors in Africa have closed shop, further contributing to the growing rate of unemployment across the continent. Their exodus from Africa also causes respective African governments to experience a significant drop in revenue collection, which has additional serious economic ramifications.

Tourism, a major economic pillar for most African countries, has been negatively affected by terrorism in the wake of deadly, high-profile attacks that seem to target foreign visitors. Recent incidents in Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Mali and Somalia have led most western countries to issue travel advisories to caution their citizens.
