Following an internal investigation, the Lauderhill Police Department announced that two former workers, Demesha Moore and Eunique Gibbons, have been arrested for forging time records and collecting thousands of dollars in unearned pay.
According to the department’s findings, Moore, the former Property and Evidence Manager, and Gibbons, the former Property and Evidence Coordinator, had a practice of fabricating time records, CBS News Miami reported.
The incident, according to officials, occurred between January and August of 2024.

Moore and Gibbons were found to have received $31,190.97 and $5,978.35, respectively, for hours that were not worked.
According to the department, the conduct was against departmental rules of conduct as well as city policy.
Moore was taken into custody on September 23, 2025, at Broward County Main Jail, while Gibbons was taken into custody on September 21, 2025, at the same jail, according to the police.
The department fired Moore on September 24, 2024. Gibbons resigned on September 6, 2024, according to police reports.
“The Lauderhill Police Department owes it to our community to maintain public trust. This behavior does not reflect the values of the hardworking men and women who serve our city every day,” the department said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the case has been turned over to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office.
In a related context of misconduct, Sharon Elizabeth Smith of Sumter was recently charged with criminal conspiracy, according to the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC).

The 36-year-old South Carolina prison staffer was detained for allegedly attempting to smuggle jewelry teeth coverings, sometimes known as “grillz,” to an inmate. According to the records obtained by WIS, Smith was arrested on September 10.
Smith, a canteen manager, allegedly plotted with others to get grillz into the prison, according to warrants. Authorities allegedly discovered $2,500 worth of grillz inside Smith’s car on Lee Correctional grounds. According to SCDC, Smith’s employment at the Lee Correctional Institution was terminated.
