Fireboy DML To Drop New Single on Friday

by Sandra Appiah, 7:48pm May 02, 2024,

Afrobeats singer Fireboy DML will announce a new single on Friday, May 3, 2024. Snippets of the Afrosound titled Damola, have been circulating on his social media handles, with fans praising his craft.

It is unclear if the new single has anything to do with his pending album, which he spoke about early this year. With previous hits like Bandana which broke many records, industry watchers are waiting to see what the new sound will entail.

In February of this year, the Peru hitmaker spoke about his upcoming album in an interview with Billboard News but did not mention the release date.

“I am finishing up the album here in Las Vegas, I’ve got an apartment with a pool to shoot a beautiful video [with] beautiful women in the pool…I just want to be in an environment that gives happiness, peace of mind, and comfort…that is what I want the album to sound like, that’s why it has taken this much time,” he stated.

Fireboy DML, who also expressed his interest in acting, indicated he would embark on a tour when the album is finally launched.

“My people have always said I am a dramatic young man…I know being dramatic does not equate to knowing how to act but I have acted in a lot of music videos and I’m like, I can’t let this gift go to waste so I am curious to see where it leads me,” he stated.

Fireboy DML already has three albums to his credit has collaborated with top performers like Ed Sheeran on Peru (Remix) and has several other collaborations and awards under his belt. The new release, Damolo would add up to singles like Oh My, Yawa and Someone which have all received good reviews.
