Kirsty Coventry

The nickname former Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe, gave to Kirsty Coventry was “Golden Girl”. The two were friends, a reality that contrasted Mugabe’s antipathy for white farmers.

Zimbabwe has a total of eight medal wins in Olympic history and Coventry is responsible for seven of them. She is also one of the most decorated female swimmers in Olympic history.

These days, Coventry serves her country in the capacity of the Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation.
