Azumah Nelson
Azumah Nelson is arguably the best African boxer of all time. What goes for Nelson in this debate is that he is not only the most successful boxer but he is quite possibly the most skillful too.
Nelson fought most of his bouts in the United States. This meant that in his native Ghana, the millions who supported him had to stay up all night in pulsating anticipation.
Nelson was usually wished the best of luck by the head of state before his fights. There are even stories of churches holding special prayer sessions on the boxer’s behalf.
