Ackee Food

Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica and a delicacy that is like Lychee. Ackee food is mostly served with smoked haddock and sometimes pan-fried with a red snapper fillet. However, the most common pairing is that of ackee and saltfish.

Though it bears the name fruit, it is eaten as a vegetable and should only be consumed when fully ripe otherwise there is the risk of it being poisonous.
