Angel Reese clapped back at her critics in style Wednesday, celebrating her Winter 2025 Vogue cover reveal.

“I ‘covered up’ and gave y’all COVERGIRL,” the Chicago Sky forward posted on X and Instagram, as reported by the New York Post.

“It’s always been both: basketball and fashion,” Reese, who stunned in a red Versace dress for her Vogue cover, told the publication. “… I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do.”

Reese’s Vogue Winter 2025 cover debut comes shortly after she appeared to clean up her Instagram, where she had shared photos in a bold cut-out dress for New Year’s Eve.

The 2023 LSU national champion showcased the same cut-out dress in TikTok videos and Reese definitely has a fearless approach to addressing critics.

Upon teaming up with Reebok in October 2024 for her own signature shoe, Reese posted on X, “Looks like I can ‘afford’ my bills now,” in response to comments she’s living beyond her means.

Reese capped her rookie WNBA season with the Chicago Sky in September, earning $73,439. The seventh overall draft pick shined with averages of 13.6 points, 13.1 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 2024, earning a WNBA All-Star nod.

She is now gearing up for the debut of Unrivaled’s 3-on-3 basketball league, set to tip off in Miami later this month.
