Florida man arrested with weapons told officers they belonged to ‘John Wick’

A Florida man, who was questioned about weapons found in his car, told officers they belonged to “John Wick.” John Wick is a popular eponymous action film series starring Keanu Reeves, a trigger-happy ex-hitman who comes out of retirement to avenge the killing of his dog and engages in a series of missions subsequently.

According to The Smoking Gun, officers responded to a domestic violence incident at a Port St. Lucie residence after a woman alleged she had been shoved to the ground and threatened with a weapon by a man. She also told officers the suspect, 27-year-old Getro Gelin, was likely hiding the gun in his Porsche car.

After officers searched the car, they found a Glock 21 pistol, a semi-automatic rifle, and a bulletproof vest in its rear compartment. Asked about the weapons found in his SUV, Gelin allegedly attempted fabricating a story, claiming “he had sold the Porsche to his cousin John Wick.” He later admitted he “lied about the name, but that he would not reveal his cousin’s name.”

Gelin was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic battery, The Smoking Gun further reports. He is being held in a county jail on a $3,500 bond.

In a separate development, a Florida woman with a black belt in martial arts was arrested after breaking her boyfriend’s nose for refusing to have sex with her and then spiting at a paramedic, who responded to the scene while claiming she had coronavirus.

According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Smoking Gun, LaDonald Shakkie Holmes, 38, left her boyfriend bloodied on March 18 after he declined her request for sex on the grounds that she was breaking up with him to reunite with her ex-husband.

Her boyfriend subsequently left the house and called 911. After telling the deputies what had transpired when they arrived, the officers tried making contact with Holmes, who was still in the house. She was, however, uncooperative. She was later arrested, but as she was being led to the squad car, she fell on the ground several times.

As a precautionary measure, the deputies called Emergency Medical Services (EMS), fearing she “was having a medical episode,” the report stated.

When the paramedics arrived, Holmes became physically aggressive when they tried attending to her, and she had to be sedated as a result. As she was being transferred to the stretcher, she shouted, “I have the Coronavirus” and allegedly went ahead to cough in the face of a paramedic, resulting in “copious amounts of saliva landing on the paramedic’s face.”

She was charged with domestic battery and battery on a paramedic.
