Former NFL star Keith Browner Sr. has died at the age of 63, his son confirmed on Tuesday.
In the early 1980s, Browner Sr. was a standout player at the University of Southern California before moving to the NFL, where he spent five seasons.
On Tuesday, his son, Keith Browner Jr., who is a former Houston Texans player, confirmed the news of his father’s sudden death.
For now, the cause of his death is yet to be confirmed, yet TMZ reports he suffered a heart attack, and it was ‘unexpected and sudden.’

Browner Jr. said it was only on Monday night that he spoke to his father, who indicated he was dealing with stomach issues.
He was vomiting, felt tired, and promised to visit the hospital on Tuesday.
However, as he was preparing to leave his house for the hospital, Browner Sr. fell to the floor next to his girlfriend.
Browner Sr. was a defensive end and linebacker, and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in 1984. He featured for the Raiders, 49ers as well as the Chargers.
His son, Browner Jr., meanwhile, played college football at Cal as a defensive end and had a four-year career in the NFL, featuring for both the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears.

Browner Sr. does not only leave behind his son, but also four daughters, Keicha, Amber, Ashley, and Jordan.
