Adichie, who is ranked 42nd, is a renowned Nigerian writer who has won numerous awards with her unique writing prose. She has also made several viral TED Talks (one of which was superbly sampled by the famous American singer Beyoncé).
Fortune commends her for her determination to challenge her audiences to think differently and extensively about Africa’s identity, race, and gender.
Some of her notable works include “Purple Hibiscus,” “Half of a Yellow Sun,” and “Americanah.”
The 39-year-old novelist is largely considered a feminist icon, cultural critic, and an intrepid political commentator.
