Ghanaian businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye has taken center stage across Africa after hosting an extravagant 40th birthday celebration, bringing together celebrities, dignitaries, and industry leaders from across the continent.
The lavish event took place at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday, March 22, 2025, drawing attention for its opulence and high-profile guest list.
Even before the big day, the hashtag #RNAQ40 began trending on social media, fueled by speculation and a reported leak of the invitation list. Among the guests were Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Davido, Tanzania’s music star Diamond Platnumz, and Ghana’s celebrated rap icon Sarkodie.
Also included in the supposed guest list were veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Afrobeats singer KiDi, and Nollywood stars Rita Dominic and Ini Edo. Ghanaian reggae-dancehall heavyweight Stonebwoy, legendary Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah, as well as Ghanaian musicians King Promise and Efya, were also mentioned.

The list further featured Africa’s wealthiest individual and Dangote Group founder, Aliko Dangote, alongside Ghanaian business mogul Ibrahim Mahama and King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse and traditional ruler of the Ga State. Accompanying them were renowned Ghanaian business magnates and media personalities Dr. Osei Kwame Despite and Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong.
Despite the buzz surrounding the leaked list, not every high-profile name mentioned made an appearance at the grand celebration. However, the event still attracted an impressive assembly of government officials, industry leaders, and influential figures from the international business world.
