Floyd Mayweather has one of the most enviable boxing records in the world. He has fought 50 times and has won on all occasions. The Black American is one of the highest-paid athletes of the past decade.

Mayweather won the WBC lightweight title in 2002, the WBC super lightweight title in 2005, and the IBF, IBO, WBC, and IBA welterweight titles in 2006. In 2007, he won the WBC super welterweight title by defeating Oscar De La Hoya.

His incredible success in the ring increased his earnings. In 2019, he was rated as the highest-paid athlete by Forbes. He reportedly brought in $915 million in 10 years, without any big sponsorship deal or paycheck from anyone. He also made $115 million more than any other athlete.

The boxer’s paycheck also skyrocketed in his bouts with Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor. He fought Pacquiao in 2015 and McGregor in 2017. Both bouts fetched him more than $500 million.

In 2019, he bought another mansion that spans 13,000 square-foot in Vegas for $9.5 million. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he also spent $25.5 million on a Beverly Hills mansion. He reportedly spent $500,000 on home furnishings.

In a recent chat with Earn Your Leisure podcast, he revealed one of his unknown investments in New York. According to him, he owns nine skyscrapers in New York City. One of the skyscrapers is One Vanderbilt, a 93-story skyscraper in the Midtown Manhattan area. Reports say that it is the fourth-tallest building in New York worth $3.3 billion. The building opened in 2020 after three years of construction.

In January 2022, Travis D. Hughes, a real estate lawyer, said there were rumors that the boxer had invested $50 million in One Vanderbilt, making him one of the most prominent Black commercial real estate investors in the world. Aside from his skyscrapers, Mayweather is also a casino investor. He has partnered with SL Green to develop Caesars Palace Times Square.

“Just in New York alone, I got nine skyscrapers. I got a casino coming to New York City in Times Square,” Mayweather explained. He continued: “One of the buildings I own is the tallest commercial building in America [One Vanderbilt]. So if you get a chance, go to New York and check it out. This is my ninth sky scraper.”

Mayweather became a professional boxer in 1996 after winning three national Golden Gloves and an Olympic bronze medal. He won his first championship as a super featherweight in 1998. Since then, he has not lost any bout.

Boxing runs in the blood of Mayweather’s family. Born on February 24, 1977, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he was inspired into boxing by his father and uncles. His dad, Floyd Sr., was a welterweight contender while his uncle, Jeff Mayweather, is a former IBO super featherweight champion. Another uncle, Roger Mayweather, is a former WBA super featherweight and WBC super lightweight champion.
