Introductions at networking events

Your introductions should be good

While at the event, check how you introduce yourself when you meet someone new. Experts advise that you mention your first and last name while maintaining eye contact and smiling.

You can even go ahead and give a brief handshake. Be sure to listen to the other person’s name and use that intermittently throughout the conversation in order to keep the name in your memory and appear interested in what is being discussed.

Learn to always listen first before you speak. It is ideal to ask the other person questions first and allow them to speak, as they will remain more interested in the conversation when it gets to your turn to speak.
