Ask good questions devoid of jargons

This will show how interested and sincere you are with the conversation. For instance, ask the other person about what they do at work and a little background. Avoid closed-ended questions; questions that are answered by just “yes” or “no.”

When it’s your turn to talk about what you do, get straight to the point and save the details for later. As you do so, avoid industry jargons. Someone who can’t fathom what you are talking about would not like to connect with you.
