In a touching and now-viral moment, 76-year-old Rose Bell, affectionately called “Granny,” finally had her goal of having a great-grandchild fulfilled. In a unique and memorable way, Sarah and Kevin King—who had been married for four years and together for eight—told Rose the momentous news, capturing her ecstatic reaction on TikTok.
Sarah told People “She has been asking us for years and we’re like, ‘Wait til we get married.’ We got married and then she was like, ‘All right, you said when you were married … come on!’ ”
So, given Rose’s fondness for scratch-off lottery tickets, the couple decided to use a special approach to inform her of their pregnancy.

They sent her a scratch-off card with a personalized pregnancy announcement. Her expression brightened with understanding and delight as Rose unveiled the secret message. She was overcome with emotion and instantly prayed, giving thanks to God for the long-awaited blessing.
For Sarah, this was a particularly meaningful time.
She found a “bonus grandma” in Kevin’s family matriarch after losing her own grandmother. “It’s fortunate,” Sarah said. “Giving her this news after years of waiting is about her legacy, not just the present.”
The pair didn’t reveal the news until after their first significant doctor’s appointment to confirm the pregnancy. But Rose had sensed it all along.
She once said, “There’s a baby in there,” pointing to Sarah’s belly. Her instinct was right.
Rose has been the couple’s constant source of guidance and support ever since Sarah and Kevin’s son was born. She gives faith-based guidance.
“She always tells me if you don’t do anything else, make sure you show him Christ. Show him who God is,” Sarah said.

Sarah believes the response from netizens encourages people to value the unique bonds within their own families. She advised, “If you have your grandmother in your life, make sure to show them love because their days are not long.”
