Micere Mugo

Micere was exiled because of her writing and activism. She had overtly criticised the Moi government for its human rights abuses. She was forced to leave Kenya in 1982 after the attempted ouster of President Moi.

She was stripped of her Kenyan citizenship but was given Zimbabwean citizenship in 1984.
