Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela was stripped of his South African passport and he was forced to look for other options to travel across the continent in the 1960s as a delegate of the African National Congres (ANC).

He ended up with an Ethiopian passport, issued in 1962 under the name of  David Motsamayi.

Mandela received his legal South African passport in 1990, days after his release from prison.
