British actor Idris Elba dropped a bombshell on Monday when he revealed he has tested positive for coronavirus.
Taking to his Twitter page to share a video, the Hobbs & Shaw star, who had his wife Sabrina Dhowre by his side, revealed he came into contact with someone who tested positive for the virus on Friday, adding that he had to take the test a result.
Elba, 47, however, assured his followers he is OK but in isolation. He also entreated them to take the prescribed basic preventive measures to protect themselves as well as prevent the virus from spreading.
“Look, this is serious. Now is the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands,” he said.
“We’ve told our families. They are very supportive. We’ve told our colleagues. Transparency is probably the best thing for this right now”, he added.
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing ???? No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ
