She is contesting to become a state representative in São Paulo for the Sunshine and Freedom party. The 36-year-old transgender women is also an activist, educator and artist, and has worked in the area of education for many years, working in teacher education with themes related to art, culture and politics.

In 2016, she transformed her art studio in the neighbourhood of Campos Eliseos, into the cultural and political centre Aparia Luzia, one of the most important spaces of black resistance in the city. There are parties, courses, formations, debates, birthdays, and it is a place where “blacks and blacks reconnect with their equals, reorganize the community in an enlarged dimension and learn to be together.”
