Tainá de Paula

The 35-year-old architect and urban planner is running for state deputy with the Brazilian Communist Party.
She is an advisor at the Bento Rubião Center for the Defense of Human Rights, which works with upgrading, land rights, and housing rights. She also works as a technical advisor for the Homeless Workers’ Movement of Rio de Janeiro. Her main aim is to improve access to the city and urban mobility, with a focus on gender and race. She has over the years cited conversations with the late Franco as reasons she decided to run for state assembly.
