Jamie Foxx is pursuing charges against an individual who allegedly struck him in the face with a glass during his 57th birthday celebration at Mr. Chow, a popular restaurant in Beverly Hills, California.
The incident occurred on December 13, 2024, when the ‘Collateral’ actor was dining with family and friends. According to Foxx’s representatives, a physical altercation broke out, and a glass was thrown from another table, hitting him in the mouth and causing injuries that required stitches.
“Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering,” a spokesperson told USA TODAY in an earlier report filed by Face2FaceAfrica.

Weeks after the altercation, a source revealed to TMZ that Foxx is “fully cooperating with the investigation” and intends to press charges to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Authorities are still working on the case and have not named a suspect or made any arrests. However, police are reportedly seeking to speak with Jackass stuntman Jasper Dolphin, who was present at the restaurant that night.
Surveillance footage from Mr. Chow has been submitted to investigators, but no details have been released regarding its contents. The Beverly Hills Police Department initially described the incident as a battery rather than an assault with a deadly weapon, noting in a statement: “The BHPD conducted a preliminary investigation and completed a report documenting the battery. No arrests were made.”
Sources close to the incident shared additional details, claiming that tensions escalated when a patron projected an inappropriate image onto Foxx’s table using a laser pointer. Foxx reportedly confronted the pranksters, at which point a glass was thrown, resulting in his injuries.
Two days after the incident, Foxx took to Instagram, expressing gratitude to those who reached out and seemingly addressing the altercation with the message: “The devil is busy … but I’m too blessed to be stressed.”
The case remains under investigation, with police conducting interviews and analyzing evidence.
