R&B star Keyshia Cole has apologized to Ashanti and Nelly for spreading false rumors about the couple.
While discussing some topics on The Breakfast Club podcast, she noted that Ashanti and Nelly were expecting another child but had to retract her statement.

“Shout-out to Ashanti, ’cause I mean, she’s amazing. She got a baby, she’s pregnant again,” Keyshia stated. Other guest on the show asked if that was really the case or if it was just rumors.
After receiving further clarification and information that the rumor was not true, the songwriter quickly issued an apology, prompting reaction from some followers online.
“It seems like an innocent mistake. She was being sincere. We really live in an eggshell society, whew! Hopefully this shouldn’t cause a rift between both artists, love their music!” an observer said.

“I doubt if Ashanti even cares. She’s somewhere on cloud 9 living her best life lol,” another added.
Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their first child, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18, 2024, a source close to the family confirmed at the time. The boy’s name was explained as “generous, kind, and dignified.”
The Always On Time hitmaker shared photos of herself wearing disposable underwear, suggesting she had given birth, and listed some titles of her compositions in the caption.

“Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time. lol…I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for Everything motherhood brings!
“This is what postpartum looks like…I’m so proud of my body for giving me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby.” Ashanti wrote.
During the period, Ashanti told some outlets that she was pregnant and engaged to Nelly, describing the development as a “blessing.”
“This new year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation… Motherhood is something that I have looked forward to, and sharing this with my family, fiancé, and loyal fans, who have been so supportive of my career, is an amazing experience,” she stated.
