During a joint interview on Complex with All’s Fair costar Niecy Nash-Betts, billionaire socialite and businesswoman Kim Kardashian opened up about how her daughter, North West, 12, reacted to the online backlash that came her way over wearing fake tattoos and piercings.
Kardashian, 45, stated that North, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kanye West, wasn’t peeved about the backlash that came her way earlier this month, PEOPLE reported.
“So her and her girlfriends, they love doing costumes, they love doing looks, and so it’s Halloween season, so they put on like fake tattoos on their face, like fake piercings,” the SKIMS founder said about the video her daughter posted on TikTok. “They all had their colored hair. They look like an opium Powerpuff Girls is like what they were going for.”
Though the image included North’s friends, Kardashian said that people removed the others and posted an online image of just her daughter.
“I mean, this whole thing about how horrible it is and it’s disturbing,” she said. “And she was like, ‘I don’t get it. It’s like a Halloween costume. It’s all fake. So she takes my phone and she writes back to a comment and she goes, ‘This is such a non-issue.'”
“And then online, it was like Kim defends North to the end on this look,” she added. “That’s a good clapback.”
During an October 15 interview on Call Her Daddy podcast, Kardashian touched on her daughter’s fashion sense and how she’s unbothered about how people feel about her appearance.
“She’s really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that,” she said. “She’s really confident…”
