LeBron James and his son Bronny have strongly denied all allegations in a lawsuit accusing them of a 2022 car crash in Los Angeles County. The two were sued in October 2024 over claims they collided with another vehicle.
LeBron and his son Bronny have denied all allegations in the lawsuit filed by April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen over the alleged 2022 car crash. The plaintiffs claim they suffered injuries and financial losses due to vehicle damage.
However, according to TMZ Sports, legal documents show the NBA star and his son reject all accusations.
Lopez, the car owner, was reportedly a passenger, while McGillen was behind the wheel during the alleged incident.
The lawsuit was filed on the same day LeBron and Bronny made history as the first father-and-son duo to play in the NBA together, leading the Lakers to a 110-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 23.

The suit alleges that they “negligently owned, controlled, repaired, entrusted, maintained and operated an automobile as to cause it to, and it did, become involved in an accident or collision,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Despite the lawsuit, LeBron and Bronny remained focused and did not let the allegations distract them on their historic NBA debut as a father-and-son duo.
“That moment, us being at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, it’s a moment I’m never going to forget,” LeBron said after playing alongside his son, who racked up three minutes for the Lakers that night.
