A man, who was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of his ex-wife at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital, made a court appearance together with his suspected accomplice on Thursday.
Per Click on Detroit, the victim, identified as Latricia Green Brown, 40, was a staff member at the Henry Ford Hospital. Her ex-husband, Mario Dewayne Green, 53, allegedly gunned her down after making his way to the health facility on August 22.
Brown was said to be in her office in the hospital’s basement when Green fatally shot her before exiting the facility. Green then entered a Dodge Charger vehicle that drove away. Authorities ultimately arrested him in the wee hours of August 23.
Green is facing charges including first-degree premeditated murder, discharge of a firearm in a building causing death, aggravated stalking, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and four counts of felony firearm.

Authorities also claim that Green managed to leave the hospital with the help of his alleged accomplice, Anthony Lee-Lamont Barnett, 54. Barnett has since been charged with accessory after the fact and lying to a police officer.
A probable cause hearing took place on Thursday for the two suspects, who joined the hearing via webcam connections to the 36th District Court, CBS reported. Following the hearing on Thursday, a preliminary exam for Green and Barnett was postponed to November 6. A preliminary exam is a legal hearing to find out if there is probable cause to believe a felony was committed.
Prior to her killing, Brown, on two occassions, went to court to obtain a personal protection order against Green, the Detroit Free Press reported. Brown stated that on multiple occasions, her ex-husband came to her workplace without notifying her and got in the way of her official duties. The deceased victim also claimed that Green attempted to get hold of her, threatened her colleagues, and phoned her workplace. Brown additionally accused Green of forcing entry into her car at the hospital.
“Most people have had failed relationships of one kind or another,” Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. “The result has never been violence, but unfortunately deadly violence is the remedy for some individuals. We stand with the family, friends, and coworkers of Ms. Green and will work hard to make sure justice is done.”
