Dedan Kimathi Wa Waciuri
Dedan Kimathi was born in 1920 in Nyeri, Central Kenya, and is celebrated for his ileadership during the Mau Mau revolt against British colonialists in the 1950’s. He played a significant role in the struggle for independence, leading an army of Mau Mau rebels until his capture and execution in 1957.
