As most of us are stuck indoors or practicing social distancing because of coronavirus, Michelle Obama has spoken to TV host Ellen DeGeneres about what she’s been up to while staying at home with her husband and two daughters.

DeGeneres, who has suspended her The Ellen DeGeneres Show amid the COVID-19 pandemic, called up the former first lady to discuss how the Obamas are finding their days of distancing themselves from public spaces.

During the five-minute phone call, Michelle said that while she, her hubby and two daughters are “trying to keep a routine going”, they are also “Netflix and chilling” when relaxing.

“Everybody’s home, the girls are back…. they’re off in their respective rooms doing their online classes,” Michelle told DeGeneres, who shared details of the phone call on Instagram.

Michelle, however, added that she feels “for all the folks who are going to suffer because of what’s going to happen to the economy,” and asked people to “be mindful about what we’re going to do to support those folks when this quarantine is over and people are looking at what’s left of their businesses and their lives.”

“It’s a good exercise in reminding us that we just don’t need a lot of this stuff that we have,” the former first lady said. “When times are bad, having each other, having your health, we can do with a lot less, and that’s an important lesson I want my kids to understand.”
