A TikTok mom is trending for her unusually brave approach to bullying. Yasmin Payne, also known as “YammiP,” posted a video of herself stepping onto a school bus to confront people responsible for making her child miserable.

YammiP disclosed in the video—which has now received over 20 million views—that her daughter, who is in the seventh grade, had been the target of bullying by a student in the tenth grade.

In a two-minute video, the mother chastised the bus driver for her dismissive response when her daughter first reported the issue to her, saying, “When she came to you and [called] somebody, cause when she came to you, you should have [gone] to the teacher. You should have said something.”

She turned to address the occupants of the bus, yelling, “So if anybody else, seventh grade, anybody, don’t let nobody pick on y’all that’s in high school. Don’t let her bully y’all, ’cause you ain’t gonna bully mine. And you, being a bus driver, you better get it under control.”

“So tell the principal, and y’all can tell your mamas that I got all y’all, ’cause ain’t none of y’all getting bullied by her.”

She concluded, “And you make sure you call your supervisor, whoever. Cause this better be the last time somebody says anything to my child,” before she got off the bus.

She was inspired to create another video to explain what had upset her after receiving praise from online users and supportive remarks for her actions.

She responded to one commenter, saying, “I let the children know that bullying is not okay. That’s not something that should be done, and everyone should treat everyone how everyone should be treated.”

In a subsequent post, she shared that her daughter’s bully had tormented other students at the school.

Payne detailed, “My daughter and her friend [were] on a bus at the end of the day on their way home, and her friend showed her a jump scare video. So my daughter, you know, she screamed, and the 10th grader told her: ‘If you scream again, I’mma come over there and slap the F out of you and take your phone.’”

Payne went on to say that the friend of her daughter had filmed the offender before alerting the bus driver of the 10th grader’s threat against them.

However, according to the infuriated mother, “The bus driver didn’t do nothing. She told the principal. The principal didn’t notify me or call me.”

In addition, Payne claimed to have called the principal of her daughter’s school, but the principal had not taken any action and had instead advised her to speak with the offending 10th grader.

“The only thing the principal said was, you know, ‘I don’t tolerate no bullying, you know, but next time, don’t get on the bus.’ That’s literally the only thing he said to me.”

When Payne learned later that stepping on the children’s bus was against the law, she claimed she didn’t care about the consequences and suggested that the bus permission slips, which parents have to sign every year, should contain such information.
