Authorities in Nigeria have launched investigations after Tiwa Savage accused fellow musician Davido of bullying and threatening her life in a petition she sent to the police. According to Premium Times Nigeria, Tiwa Savage, whose real name is Tiwatope Omolara Savage, sent the petition to Lagos State’s Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade.

The 43-year-old in the petition claimed the Unavailable singer’s hostility stemmed from her sharing an Instagram post of her and the mother of one of Davido’s daughters. Tiwa Savage claimed Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, reacted to her post with “very đisrespectful, malicious and derogatory words” towards her.

It also appeared Tiwa Savage and the Grammy-nominated singer initially did not have any issues as she also highlighted how she had always been there for Davido and his family. She also said she supported the 31-year-old when he lost his son.

“On Dec. 23, I made a post which included myself and Sophia Momodu’s Instagram Story- a feature on Instagram which allows you to put up a post for twenty-four hours, and Adeleke sent messages to my manager who’s also part of his management team that I shouldn’t worry and should never say a word to him and that I was taunting him, uttering very đisrespectful, malicious and derogatory words to my person,” she wrote in the January 9 petition.

“I responded to Mr David Adeleke’s message and told him not to reach out to me, especially as I feel like I have been there for him and his daughter, Imade, and more importantly when he lost his son.”

The Pick Up singer said Davido’s actions were “unethical” and could be considered as a “direct threat” to her “rights to life, privacy and dignity” as guaranteed in Nigeria’s constitution.

“I, therefore, would like to make this complaint and to state that in the event that anything untoward or harmful were to happen to me or any member of my family, I will like the members of the Nigerian Police Force to hold Mr David Adeleke responsible,” she stated. “I am available to answer any questions or provide any additional information regarding this matter.”

Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed receipt of the petition on Wednesday and said an investigation has since been launched. Davido is yet to respond to the allegations, though the two singers have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
